Keeping Costs Down
President David L. Boren is committed to providing access so you can be a part of the excitement on our campus. Though OU’s tuition and fees remain near the bottom of the Big 12, almost two-thirds of our students need financial aid. This past spring, President Boren announced the largest single scholarship fundraising effort in university history, the Campaign for Scholarships. In fact, over $50 million in scholarship gifts and pledges has been raised to date, and many students are already feeling the results of this drive, with new funds being awarded in the form of Sooner Heritage Scholarships. From the administration, faculty and staff to our generous alumni and friends, the OU family is dedicated to opening doors for every qualified student who wants to attend our great University.
Sooner Aid Analysis
The University of Oklahoma has implemented a valuable new tool that is available from late summer to March 1 each year to help you and your family plan financially for college. Users are raving about the benefits of Sooner Aid Analysis (SAA), an online resource which allows incoming freshmen an opportunity to apply for and receive an estimate of federal, state, and institutional awards months before the actual awarding process. If you would like to apply and receive your Sooner Aid Analysis, you will need a copy of your and your supporting parents' most recent federal tax return. This easy new program is yet another way OU is trying to give you the tools necessary to reach your future goals. Sooner Aid Analysis is available at the end of the application for admission.

Residency Classification

Like all students at OU, you will be classified as a resident or a non-resident based on information provided on your admissions application. Your classification makes a difference in admission requirements and also in the cost of attending OU. If you claim resident status, you may be required to submit evidence to substantiate your claim. If you are a member of the armed forces stationed in Oklahoma or a military dependent of Oklahoma-based personnel, you are eligible to pay in-state fees through a non-resident tuition waiver. If you have questions about your residency classification, call the Office of Admissions at 405-325-2252 or visit our Web site at www.ou.edu/admrec/
