Texas students choose the University of Oklahoma because of its impeccable quality, ideal size, affordability and also because it is so close to home. Known for its academic excellence, rich traditions and strong sense of community, OU provides a major college experience in a private college atmosphere. Although home to almost 19,000 undergraduate students, the campus has a small-college feel. It is difficult to contain excitement in the fall when the flower beds blush crimson and the campus shakes with the Boomer-Sooner game day yell of more than 80,000 fans.
No! More and more Texans are Sooner bound every year. In the 2006 academic year students from out of state made up 29 percent of on-campus enrollment at The University of Oklahoma. Of those students, 66 percent were from Texas. In the freshman class about 22 percent were from Texas. For the convenience of Texas students OU maintains offices in Dallas and Houston.
The University of Oklahoma is located in Norman, Oklahoma, just 15 minutes south of Oklahoma City. From Dallas, it takes only two hours and 45 minutes to reach the campus, which is right off I-35.
